Indian Air Force has selected the Boeing CH-47D Chinook helicopter to replace Russian Mi-26

India is to soon offer American aircraft manufacturer Boeing a deal to supply 15 heavy-lift helicopters to the Indian Air Force, local media reported Tuesday, October 30, 2012. The Press Trust of India reported that unidentified Indian Defense Ministry officials said talks on the price of the aircraft and procurement details are the result of Boeing emerging as the low bidder in a helicopter procurement competition.
The CH-47D is an American twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter designed and manufactured by the Company Boeing.
