A military spokesman confirmed Thursday that China's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, is set to conduct a voyage on the high seas. When and in what waters the voyage will be conducted will be decided in accordance with overall conditions, Yang Yujun, spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense, told a press conference.

Babcock fits forward island on HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier
The island is a crucial component of the ship, containing the main bridge and around 100 vital mission systems compartments. The event was witnessed by the Secretary of State for Defence, Phillip Hammond, MP. The circa 600 tonne forward island – which arrived at Babcock’s Rosyth facility (where the carriers are being assembled) from BAE Systems in Portsmouth on 11 February – was lifted into position on HMS Queen Elizabeth’s flight deck by the massive Goliath crane, which had a special 78 tonne lifting frame attached for the purpose.

Focus - Naval Technology: Models of Royal Navy future Carrier & RFA Tanker simulate Replenishment At Sea
Two highly-accurate one-tonne scale models of HMS Queen Elizabeth and future tanker RFA Tidespring have been tested in Europe’s largest indoor water tank in Gosport to determine how the two ships can sail safely in company. Key to any future operations by the carrier – the largest warship ever to sail under the White Ensign – will be sustaining her thousands of miles from home.

Indian Navy aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya is yet to be delivered
According to an Indian Navy statement, the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya is yet to be delivered to the Indian Navy. The ship was put to sea for trials from June to September 2012. During the sea trials over 108 days, the main propulsion plant could not complete the 'full power trials' due to defects encountered on 'boiler furnace brickwork' at higher speeds.

Since January 28th 2013, the French Navy air defense Destroyer Chevalier Paul (2nd ship of Forbin class) is attached to CSG3 (Carrier Strike Group 3) which centerpiece is US Navy's nuclear powered Aircraft Carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). On February 6th, CSG3 sailed through Ormuz to reach the Gulf of Oman.

Rolls-Royce installs world’s most powerful gas turbine into HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier

Indian Aircraft Carrier INS Vikramaditya (Gorshkov) now expected in last quarter of 2013
As informed by the Russian side the delivery of the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya (Gorshkov), after completion of repairs and sea trials, would be made in the last quarter of 2013. The aircraft carrier was subjected to extensive trials for the first time for 108 days from 8th June 2012 to 23rd September 2012, with a part of the Indian crew on board, undergoing training during the sea trials.

Biggest section of HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH rolled out for assembly
Workers at BAE Systems moved on sunday the biggest section of HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH, the first of two new aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy, out of the company’s shipbuilding hall at Govan for the first time.

China's aircraft carrier air operations have started on "Liaoning" (ex-Varyag)
Shortly after its official delivery and commissioning to the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy last month, China's first aircraft carrier has already started training for air operations with helicopters and naval jets.
