The final operation-ready Rooivalk helicopter to be handed to South African Air Force by Denel

The final operation-ready Rooivalk helicopter has been handed over to the South African Air Force by Denel Aviation. Mike Kgobe, the CEO of Denel Aviation says the acceptance of the locally developed combat support helicopter marks the culmination of a 26 year partnership between the SAAF and Denel. “We took this proudly South African aircraft through all its stages – from design to manufacturing, upgrading and retrofitting – to the point where it will soon be deployed.
The Rooivalk is an attack helicopter manufactured by Denel Aviation of South Africa. The South African Air Force (SAAF) ordered 12 Rooivalks, designated the Rooivalk Mk 1 in SAAF service.

The new Malaysian 8x8 armoured vehicle AV-8 unveils during the 80th Army Day anniversary.

The new Malaysian 8x8 armoured vehicle AV-8 designed for the 21st century has been revealed to the public during the 80th Army Day anniversary celebration in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan. The Malaysian defence ministry spokesman said, the Turkey-designed armoured vehicle was flown to Malaysia and currently placed at an army camp in Port Dickson.
The new AV-8 8x8 armoured vehicle was unveiled during the the 80th Army Day anniversary celebration.

Benin puchases ten Casspir 2000 4x4 mine protect vehicle from South African Company Mechem

Benin purchases ten CASSPIR 2000 4x4 mine protected vehicle from the South African Company Mechem which is now a subdividion of Denel, the largest manufacturer of defence equipment in South Africa. Mechem is expecting new orders for the CASSPIR 2000 in the next financial year (starting April 1), according to Stephan Burger, CEO of Denel Land Systems.
