Raytheon Anschütz and Seastema supply IBS to Italian Coast Guard Patrol Vessels

The German navigation system manufacturer Raytheon Anschütz in partnership with Italian marine automation provider Seastema has been selected to deliver advanced integrated bridge and navigation system for two Italian Coast Guard military patrol vessels. The vessels are currently being built at Fincantieri’s Castellammare di Stabia (Naples) shipyard.

Italian armed forces purchase 40mm infantry ammunition from Rheinmetall

The Italian armed forces have awarded Rheinmetall a contract for more than 50,000 rounds of enhanced-performance 40mm x 53 war shot ammunition. Following Canada and Denmark, Italy is now the third NATO nation to equip its armed forces with this advanced Rheinmetall product. The order is worth €8.7 million.

Italy to send two C-130 transport aircraft and one 767 refueling plane to support French Army in Mali

Italy said on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, that it will send three planes to Mali to help support French and Malian troops battling Islamist rebels after parliament gave the green light for a two- to three-month logistical mission.

Fincantieri Launches "Luigi Dattilo" Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) for the Italian Coast Guards

The first of two multi-purpose vessels commissioned from Fincantieri by the General Command of the Port Authority Corp for the Italian Coast Guard was launched today at Castellammare di Stabia (Naples).
