Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force receives first two Kawasaki P-1 Maritime Patrol Aircraft

Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) received the first two of a fleet of next generation P-1 Maritime Patrol Aircraft on Tuesday, with the planes scheduled to be deployed at Atsugi Air Base in Kanagawa Prefecture later this month, local media reported.

Boeing handed over the seventh production P-8A Poseidon to the U.S. Navy on schedule March 29, marking the first delivery from the second low-rate initial production contract awarded in November 2011.

Selex ES delivers ATOS surveillance kit for Beechcraft Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA)

After more than 80 hours of flight testing, Selex ES, a Finmeccanica company, have handed over to Corporate Aircraft SA, exclusive distributor of Beechcraft, purc hasing as prime contractor for an undisclosed end-user a Beechcraft King Air 350ER equipped with the company’s Airborne Tactical Observation and Surveillance (ATOS) system. The end user has expressed their satisfaction with the system performance demonstra ted during the flight tests.

Boeing delivers 6th production P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft to U.S. Navy.


Boeing delivered the sixth production P-8A Poseidon aircraft to the U.S. Navy Jan. 31, successfully completing the first group of low-rate initial production aircraft that are dramatically improving the service's maritime patrol capabilities.

Chinese Navy future Maritime Patrol Aircraft Y-8FQ Cub/GX-6 has started its flight test campaign

The ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare) variant of Y-8, the Y-8FQ Cub (also known as GX-6 for High New 6) first surfaced on the Chinese internet in November 2011 as we reported at the time. A new picture just surfaced showing the PLAN future Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) in flight, indicating that flight tests for the time have already started.
