Israel's fifth Dolphin-class submarine, the INS Rahav, unveiled during ceremony in Kiel, Germany

Israel's fifth Dolphin-class submarine, the INS Rahav, was unveiled on Monday, April 29 at a special ceremony in Kiel, Germany attended by Commander in Chief of the Israeli Navy Rear Adm. Ram Rothberg, Director-General of the Ministry of Defense Maj. Gen. (Res.) Ehud Shani and a delegation of Israeli and German officials.

Chinese Shipbuilder CSOC unveiled new Frigate, LHD and Submarine designs at IDEX 2013

Beijing based China Shipbuilding & Offshore International (CSOC) unveiled several new designs during IDEX 2013, the international defense exhibition held in the United Arab Emirates. Navyrecognition took the opportunity to get some details about these new designs during the event, including a new LHD design, the S20 submarine and a new stealth frigate design.

Technical Datasheet: Type 216 AIP SSK Submarine

At Euronaval 2012, German Shipbuilder TKMS released information about a proposed conventional propulsion long-range submarine project, called Type-216. Based on the Type 214, the Type 216 is designed specifically to meet the "larger conventional submarine" needs of countries like Australia, India and Canada.
