Iranian army ground force plans to deliver more home-made weapons to missile units

The Iranian Army Ground Force plans to further upgrade and reinvigorate its missile units using home-made weapons and equipments, an army commander announced on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Speaking to reporters Lieutenant Commander of the Army Ground Force General Kiomars Heidari said that the Army has already upgraded its missile units, and added that further expansion of the missile units is "top on our agenda" this year.

Iranian Navy Commander: More Jamaran Destroyers will be built to boost Iran naval power

Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the country has started construction of several Jamaran destroyers to further boost its naval power. "In a bid to increase the Navy's level of preparedness, more Jamaran (class) destroyers are under construction," Sayyari said.

Iran to unveil new home-made air defense missile system Bavar-373 similar to the Russian S-300

A senior Iranian military commander announced on Sunday that the country will unveil a home-made long-range air-defense missile system similar to the Russian S-300 in the near future. "This system, dubbed as Bavar (belief) 373, is being developed in the country and will be officially unveiled soon," Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army's Self-Sufficiency Jihad Rear Admiral Farhad Amiri said.

Iranian army to unveil new home-made weapons and armoured personnel carrier during wargames

The Iranian Army plans to unveil and test new domestically-made weapons and military hardware during the upcoming wargames in Central Iran, a senior commander announced. "A number of armored personnel carriers, weapons, sniper rifles, anti-aircraft batteries and missile launchers will be unveiled in the upcoming Beit ol-Moqaddas 25 wargames of the Army's Ground Force," Lieutenant Commander of the Army's Ground Force Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari said on Friday, April 26, 2013.
In February 2013, Iran has unveiled a new version of its home-made main battle tank Zulfiqar.

Iran unveils new drone Sarir H-110 armed with air-to-air missiles during military parade in Tehran

The Iranian Air Defense Force displayed a new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) on the occasion of the National Army Day. The new drone, named Sarir (Throne) H-110 , was showcased in the military parades underway at the mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the Late Imam Khomeini, in Southern Tehran.

Iran unveils latest military equipment during a large military parade in Tehran

The Iranian Army displayed its latest home-made military tools, weapons and equipments in large military parades in Tehran on Thursday, April 18, 2013. The ceremony took place at the mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the Late Imam Khomeini, in Southern Tehran.
The Shahab-3 has a range of up to 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers) and is capable of carrying a 1,000-760 kilogram warhead.

Iran Launches news "Jamaran 2" Frigate in Caspian Sea

Iran launched its second Mowdge class "destroyer" (Frigate class according to western standards), dubbed as "Jamaran 2", on Sunday after a reported development that took six years. The "Jamaran 2" appears to be an evolution of the existing Jamaran Frigate design, sporting new electronic and weapon systems.

An Iranian fighter aircraft F-4 Phantom II tried to intercept U.S. MQ-1 Predator drone

An Iranian warplane F-4 Phantom II tried earlier this week to intercept a U.S. drone but failed, the U.S. Defense Department said on Thursday, March 14, 2013. . In a written statement, Pentagon Press Secretary George Little said that the Iranian jet tried to intercept an unarmed MQ-1 Predator remotely-piloted aircraft over "international waters" on March 12, but the attempt was unsuccessful.

Iran ready to unveil new air defense missile systems in the near future

The Iranian Army's Deputy Top Liaison, General Mohammad Hossein Dadras, stressed that Iran enjoys the ability to supply the country's Armed Forces with their needed military tools and equipment without foreign assistance, and added that the country plans to unveil new air defense systems in the near future.

Iranian army started large military exercices Khatam ol-Anbia in the southwestern province

The Iranian Army Ground Force started military exercises in the southwestern province of Khuzestan on Saturday, semi-official Fars news agency reported. The wide-scale exercises, codenamed Khatam ol-Anbia, kicked off in Khuzestan on Saturday, March 10, 2013, and will last for three days.

Iranian Army plans to test-fire new anti-chopper man-portable air defence missile system

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) of Iranian army plans to test-fire an indigenous shoulder-launched weapon which can shoot down choppers in the ongoing wargames in Southeastern Iran. The IRGC Ground Force started massive wargames, codenamed Payambar-e Azam 8 (The Great Prophet 8), which include exercising different defense tactics, in Southern Iran on Saturday, February 23, 2013.
Iran has already developed and manufactured several air defense missile systems based on Russian technology.

Iranian Army plans to unveil tomorrow optimized version of its home-made main battle tank Zolfaqar

The Iranian army plans to unveil optimized versions of home-made tanks in a special ceremony due to be held tomorrow. The army of Iran will display an optimized version of Zolfaqar and Samsam tanks on the occasion of the Ten-Day Dawn ceremonies, celebrating the victory of the Islamic Revolution back in 1979.

Iran unveils its new home-made front control wing stealth fighter aircraft Qaher 313

Iran's new fighter jet which was unveiled today has been designed and manufactured fully domestically and enjoys a "unique" structure, its project manager said on Saturday, February 2, 2013." The fighter jet is Iranian made and all its parts, from A to Z, have been manufactured domestically," Hassan Parvaneh told Iran's state-run TV. "Its shape and structure is completely unique and peerless," he added.

Iran will unveil new defense equipment during ceremonies celebrating the Islamic Revolution

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi announced that his ministry would display several defense achievements in the next few days.
