Flying the Rafale for fighter jet pilot Michael “Mikael” Brocard, 42, is quite a breeze. Even with 4,000 flying hours of which 1,400 (hours) are with the Rafale, he still gets excited and look forward to taking the Rafale to the skies every time. And he has a very good reason for it.

Tranche 3 of BAE Systems Eurofighter Typhoon fighter aircraft goes on test

Assembly of the first Tranche 3 Typhoon, destined for delivery to the Royal Air Force, has now been completed together with initial testing. The aircraft, British single seat no 116, has now entered electromagnetic testing.

Tranche 1 of Typhoon fighter aircraft fleet is upgraded with a wide range of avionic system

The installation of the update to the whole Tranche 1 Typhoon fleet has been agreed following the successful delivery and assessment of Drop 2. The enhancement package, developed by our Capability Sustainment Team, provides capability upgrades to a wide range of Typhoon avionic systems covering the displays and controls, attack and identification, defensive aids and communication sub systems.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine multirole combat aircraft, designed and built by a consortium of three aviation companies: EADS, Alenia Aeronautica and BAE Systems; working through a holding company, Eurofighter GmbH.

French armed forces launched several air strikes in northern Mali to target rebels training centres

French armed forces launched several air strikes, Saturday, February 2, 2013, overnight in the country's northern region which has been in hands of Islamist rebels since 10 months, spokesman for the French army said Sunday, February 3, 2013. Thirty jets targeted Islamist militants' training and communication centres around Tessalit - a mountainous area near the Algerian border.

Iran unveils its new home-made front control wing stealth fighter aircraft Qaher 313

Iran's new fighter jet which was unveiled today has been designed and manufactured fully domestically and enjoys a "unique" structure, its project manager said on Saturday, February 2, 2013." The fighter jet is Iranian made and all its parts, from A to Z, have been manufactured domestically," Hassan Parvaneh told Iran's state-run TV. "Its shape and structure is completely unique and peerless," he added.
Iran unveiled a new advanced home-made aircraft, named Qaher 313, in a ceremony attended by President Ahmadinejad.

Russian fifth-generation Sukhoi-T-50 fighter aircraft completes first long range flight

Russia's prototype fifth-generation Sukhoi T-50 fighter jet has carried out its first long-range flight during the transfer from a manufacturing plant in Russia’s Far East to an assigned airfield near Moscow, deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Thursday, January 17, 2013.
