Renault Trucks Defense presents 4x4 Sherpa Special Forces and Light Carrier armed with 20mm gun

Qatar army modernized with German Leopard 2A6 tank and PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer

The Emirate of Qatar is in the process of modernizing its land forces, comprising some 8500 soldiers, which operate a fleet of tanks and artillery that is in parts more than 40 years old. Therefore, Qatar signed a contract with the German defense company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) about the delivery of 24 artillery systems PzH 2000 and 62 LEOPARD 2 main battle tanks.

Iran unveils latest military equipment during a large military parade in Tehran

United States to send 200 soldiers to Jordan to help Jordanian army

United States Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told Congress on Wednesday, April 18, 2013, that the Pentagon is sending about 200 soldiers from an Army headquarters unit to Jordan to assist efforts to contain violence along the Syrian border and plan for any operations needed to ensure the safety of chemical weapons in Syria.

DCNS begins sea trials with Mohammed VI FREMM multimission frigate for Royal Moroccan Navy

The FREMM frigate built for the Royal Moroccan Navy put to sea for the first time on 17 April. This key milestone marks the launch of sea trials, which will be conducted over the next few weeks off the Brittany coast. Russian Navy Mistral LHDs to be based in the Far East ports of Vladivostok and Petropavlovsk

Russia will base its French-made Mistral-class amphibious assault ship in the Far East ports of Vladivostok and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky when they enter service, a senior Defense Ministry official said in an interview. Russia signed a 1.2-billion euro deal with a French shipyard in 2011 for two Mistral-class ships, the first of which is due for delivery in 2014 and the second in 2015.
