The French Ministry of Defence confirmed that the cities of Diabaly and Douentza are now under the control of the Malian troops since Monday morning, January 21, 2013. Malian armed forces supported by the French soldiers based in Niono and Mopti-Sévaré have recaptured the cities. Cities occupied by the Islamist rebels are located respectively from 400 and 800 km northeast of the capital Bamako. (New with interactive combat map situation)
