Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili on Saturday, January 5, 2013, pledged continued contribution to the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. Ivanishvili made the pledge after attending the funeral for a Georgian soldier who had been found dead after missing for 10 days in Afghanistan in December last year.
Georgia has some 1,560 troops in Afghanistan, making the country the largest non-NATO contributor to the mission. |
